William Tell in 2003

Here’s one of my first ‘serious’ multitrack trombone quartet recordings.

With reference to this blog post, I think the reasons I did it were:

  • To see what the arrangement sounded like – because I wasn’t confident at the time that I would ever be in a quartet that wanted to practice it to performance standard
  • To show off, because I quite fancied my trombone playing.

As for the 4-movement Charpentier piece, the motivation was

  • to create a ‘reference’ recording, because I really liked the piece and at the time I couldn’t find any available recordings of it.
